General Information

Mission of SNACC

The mission of the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care is to advance the art and science of the care of the neurologically impaired patient.

Statement of Need

The 50th Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Annual Meeting delivers a program designed to meet and update the educational needs and practice gaps of neuroanesthesiologists, neurocritical care specialists, and all perioperative neuroscience practicioners who engage in providing care to neurologically impaired patients / patients at risk of neurologic injury during the perioperative period, as well as neuroscientists engaged in both clinical and basic perioperative neuroscience research. The workshops, symposia, lectures, and abstract presentations will specifically address new clinical findings essential to improving the care of patients, as well as advancing both basic and clinical research in perioperative neuroscience.

Target Audience

The SNACC 50th Annual Meeting has been designed to meet the educational needs of neurosurgical and critical care anesthesiologists and neuroscientists involved in the care of patients with neurological disorders and are intended for neurosurgical and critical care anesthesiologists, neuroscientists, faculty, residents, fellows and medical students. The Society supports the attendance by members in the educational sessions of the Annual Meeting. The program is generated from member requests and an assessment of need by the program committee.

Attendance at this meeting does not guarantee competency or proficiency in the performance of any procedures which may be discussed or taught during the course.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Apply the clinical principles, guidelines, and recommendations presented in order to effectively improve the management of patients requiring neuroanesthetic care and those patients requiring anesthesia with neurological disorders.
  • Discuss recent advances and controversies in neuroanesthesiology practice, with an emphasis on patient safety.
  • Discuss recent advances and discoveries in neurosciences and their impact on anesthesiology, critical care, and perioperative medicine.

Educational Format

The format combines workshops, presentations by subject experts, interactive symposia and scientific abstract presentations with attendee participation in ways best suited for learning the content.

Participation in the SNACC 50th Annual Meeting

Attendance shall be open to all health practitioners, provided that they have registered for the meeting. AMA credit will be offered to MDs. DOs need to take their certificate and apply to the AOA as required. A completed Physician Verification of Attendance form must be submitted at the conclusion of the meeting.
