All Attendees 

What happens if I miss a session? 
All of our sessions are being recorded and will be available to re-watch the week after the live event. You will receive an email the week after the event with more detailed instructions on how to view the recordings and presentations slides.

Can I contact a “live” person for help? 

YES! You can email conference@childhealthcan.ca and a member of the Children’s Healthcare Canada team will be able to assist you. 
 
What time zone will the conference be held? 
Both the in-person schedule and virtual schedule will be shown in Eastern Standard Time (EST). 
 
Who should attend this year's Annual Conference?
This conference is a celebration of leadership in child and youth health. The content will be relevant to:

Will the sessions be available on-demand following the conference? 
All conference content will be housed on the Children’s Healthcare Canada website and mobile app for 1 year following the live event. 
 
When and where can I plan my agenda?   
Access to the conference website and mobile app will be granted no later than 1 week prior to the event. You can build your agenda at that time.   
 
Can I support Children’s Healthcare Canada through this event? 
Yes, there are many sponsorship opportunities when it comes to the annual conference! Please view our Sponsorship Prospectus here and contact conference@childrenshealthcarecanada.ca if you are interested in sponsoring or have any sponsorship questions. 
 
What is the registration cancellation policy? 
Please note that all Conference Registration fees are subject to the Cancellation and Refund Conditions below:  
  • A refund will be granted less a $50.00 (plus tax) administrative charge per registration if requested before November 1, 2022, at 6pm ET.   
  • Cancellation notifications received after November 1, 2022 are non-refundable.  
  • Approved refunds will be processed and issued no later than December 31, 2022.  
  • All cancellations and/or modifications must be submitted in writing to the Children’s Healthcare Canada Conference Secretariat by email (conference@childrenshealthcarecanada.ca).  
  • No shows for the event will not receive a refund or credit.   
Travel Restrictions: If COVID-19 travel restrictions are imposed from the province from which you are traveling, or should it be necessary to cancel the in-person event, all in-person registrants will be able to convert their registration to the virtual all access experience without penalty or obtain a refund of the full amount.

In-Person Attendees 

Can I register onsite at the Shaw Centre?
There will be no onsite registration for this year's In-Person Annual Conference. Attendees must register no later than November 23, 2022 in order to attend the In-Person Annual Conference. 

What strategies are in place to ensure the health and safety of all those attending the conference in Ottawa?

Do I need to be vaccinated for COVID-19 to attend the event in-person? 
All in-person attendees will be required to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Fully vaccinated is defined as 2 weeks (14 full days) following the receipt of a second dose of a government-approved COVID-19 vaccine. 
 
Can I attend with proof of a negative COVID-19 test instead of proof of vaccination against COVID-19? 
No. A negative COVID-19 test will not be accepted as a substitution for being fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 
 
Will exceptions to your COVID-19 vaccine requirement be accepted? 
No. There will not be exceptions. Those who cannot comply with the vaccine requirement can join us virtually. Register here
 
Will you be providing personal protective equipment (PPE) onsite? 
We ask all participants to provide their own surgical masks, however, we will have extras on site, should anyone need them. We will also have hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue and event spaces. 
 
Will I have access to the virtual event platform? 
Yes, you will have the same access as all virtual event attendees. Therefore, you can chat with them via our conference website, and you can tune into virtual sessions from your hotel room if you wish. 
 
Is there parking at the venue (Shaw Centre)?   
The parking nearest to Shaw Centre is a 2-storey underground facility providing 730 spaces. It is a fully staffed facility with two entrances located on Daly Avenue and Nicholas Street South. The three exits are located on Nicholas Street South. Entry points to both the Shaw Centre and the Rideau Centre shopping complex are located on both levels on the north and west walls. There are four handicap spaces per level located on the north wall near the Rideau Centre entrances. The parking is a fully automated multi-level facility. There is an ambassador patrolling the pay stations and entry and exit points on a 24-hour basis. Impark accepts the following payment methods:

How can I request accessibility services?  
Accessibility is important to us. Reach out to us at conference@childrenshealthcarecanada.ca with any specific accessibility questions. You will also have the oppertunity to share your accessibility requirements during your registration process. 
 
What if I have dietary restrictions?  
You can specify any dietary restrictions during the registration process. If there is anything else we should know, please feel free to contact conference@childrenshealthcarecanada.ca.

Virtual Attendees 

I'm having trouble viewing the live stream and/or session chat box. 
There may be a few reasons for these issues. First up, run a Systems Check by clicking here. You can also try refreshing your page. Make sure you are using one of the supported browsers for the live stream (Chrome or Firefox) and that it is up to date. You may need to clear any browser cookies or turn off any ad blockers.  
 
How do I log onto the virtual event platform? 
Use the email you used to register for the conference as your username and your registration confirmation number (6 digits) as your access key/password. 
 
What if I can’t locate my registration confirmation email?   
If you cannot find your registration confirmation email, click this link, login, and follow the prompts. This page also includes a “Forgot Login” link if you do not remember your login information.  
 
Can I watch the virtual event on my mobile device? 
Most computers/tablets/mobile devices are compatible with the Cadmium platform. Make sure your operating system is up to date, your battery is charged, and you have a good wi-fi/data connection. Check your device compatibility by performing a Systems Check. 
 
How do I attend a session? 
You will be able to find the links to live streams, tours, sessions in the full schedule. Click on the session you are interested in and the join link will be in the bottom right hand corner of the pop up. 
 
Can I ask questions or chat during a session? 
YES! Ask questions or engage in the ongoing discussion during all of the presentations. Speakers, moderators, and other delegates will be responding in real-time.
