X-rays are frequently obtained as the first diagnostic study when initially evaluating a musculoskeletal complaint, especially in the setting of trauma. Familiarity of normal anatomy is an important foundation for the interpretation of elbow pathology on radiographs. This session will cover the basics of interpreting elbow X-rays and is designed to given an overview of the most fundamental aspects of this skill. At the end of this session, attendees should be able to described and recognize frequently obtained X-ray views when evaluating the elbow, normal anatomy of the skeletally mature and immature elbow, commonly encountered pathology, and radiologic assessments for evaluation of bony alignment.
