Musculoskeletal medicine is a core practice area for the Academy as outlined in PM&R Bold. However, exposure to sports medicine and musculoskeletal training varies widely between training programs. The first hour of our session will address best practices in ultrasound education with two lectures followed by an open Q&A. As a community we look to support current fellows and rising residents interested in sports medicine to enhance their ultrasound curriculum through peer-led initiatives in the evaluation of musculoskeletal injuries as well as neuromuscular conditions. In our second hour we will expand on sports specific biomechanical analysis, empowering rising learners develop a framework for mechanical analysis beyond the clinical setting and into the field. Our two presenters will provide an introductory framework for functional evaluation of the runner and overhead athlete followed by interactive Q&A. In the final hour we will look to connect members of our community through a rotating small group 'Speed Mentoring' experience. This will allow members to connect with each other in advance of Annual Assembly, thereby augmenting the live experience when we gather in-person as an Academy in Baltimore.

Hour 1: Building foundational ultrasound skills and curriculum for evaluation of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions (Dr. Klass and Dr. Smith, 2 25 minute presentations, 10 min Q&A)

Hour 2: From the lab to the field: sport specific biomechanical analysis for residents and fellows (Dr. Raiser and Dr. Bowers, 2 25 minute presentations, 10 min Q&A)

Hour 3: Speed Mentoring - rotating small group Q&A with current fellows.
