This skills lab will provide hands on training in the use of ultrasound guidance for chemodenervation procedures in the upper and lower limbs. This includes teaching pattern recognitions, ultrasound transducer handling skills and image optimization required by clinicians to incorporate US guidance into clinical practice.
Course directors faculty will provide a demonstration of US identification of each region followed by hands on practice led by table trainers at 8 ultrasound stations. Participants will also practice in plane and out of plane needle insertion and techniques for image optimization via transducer handling and machine operation.

Learning Objectives:

Using ultrasound guidance Identify muscles and nerves in the arm which are commonly targeted for chemodenervation procedures.
Using ultrasound guidance Identify muscles and nerves in the forearm and hand which are commonly targeted for chemodenervation procedures.
Using ultrasound guidance Identify muscles and nerves in the lower limb which are commonly targeted for chemodenervation procedures.
List the limitations, benefits and techniques for ultrasound guided in plane and out of plane needle insertion.
