For Dr. Maria Patricia Becerra Garcia:
Dr. Maria Patricia Becerra Garcia is currently a second year pediatric dental resident at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Becerra was born and raised in Venezuela. She received her dental degree at Santa Maria University, Caracas in 2006. She then obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2013. Since then she has been serving the community in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas, where her passion for little teeth began. During her free time, she enjoys traveling and - above all else - spending time with her husband and two daughters.
For Dr. Karen R. Lapham:
Lieutenant Colonel Karen R. Lapham is currently serving as a second year Pediatric Dental Resident at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas through a training position awarded by the Air Force Institute of Technology. Prior to her current assignment, Lieutenant Colonel Lapham was the Clinical Dentistry Flight Commander for the 59th Medical Wing Dental Services, 59th Dental Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, where she oversaw oral health care readiness for over 3,000 military beneficiaries. Lieutenant Colonel Lapham began her military career in June 2009 when she received a direct commission in the United States Air Force Dental Corps following graduation from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She is a licensed general dentist in Wisconsin and completed a one-year residency in general dentistry at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nevada in 2010. Lieutenant Colonel Lapham was also the 2014 United States Air Force Clinical Dentist of the Year.
