Selina Mahesri, DDS is a Pediatric Dentistry resident at the One Brooklyn Health Medical Center where she conducted her research project “A Survey of Caregivers of Patients With Special Healthcare Needs,” which focuses on the knowledge and attitude of caregivers of patients with special needs, particularly in emergency dental situations. Selina hopes that her research will lead to further studies of how caregivers can become excellent advocates for the oral health of patients with special needs.
