Dr. Nicole Pershing is a third-year Pediatric Infectious Disease fellow in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease at the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Hospital (PCH). Dr. Pershing received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2006, an MD/PhD in Pharmacology and Cancer biology from Duke University in 2015 and completed her residency training in pediatrics at the University of Utah in 2018. Dr. Pershing is interested in understanding microbial genomics underpinning invasive and severe infections and has focused her fellowship work on microbial virulence determinants in pediatric Streptococcus pneumoniae empyema.
