Dr. Armitige is an Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Tyler. She serves on the staff of Heartland National TB Center as Assistant Medical Director and is currently co-medical director of the San Antonio, Texas TB clinic.
She was previously at the McGovern Medical School in Houston where she did her training in Med/Peds and ID and served as faculty caring for both TB and HIV infected patients and conducting biomedical research in the pathogenesis of tuberculosis.
Dr. Armitige received her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Rice University; her medical degree from McGovern Medical School in Houston; and her PhD in Molecular Pathology from the UT Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Houston.
