Dr. Ziegler is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, Assistant Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Biostatistics Epidemiology and Informatics (DBEI), and Senior Scholar at the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB) at the University of Pennsylvania. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and has completed specialized training in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics through the Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology (MSCE) training program in the CCEB. He has also received specialized clinical and research training in oncology infectious diseases and healthcare epidemiology and infection prevention. His clinical research program focuses on the prevention of healthcare-associated infections in immunocompromised patients and the epidemiology of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) within the hospital built environment. He is the recipient of a Career Development Award (K23) from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) the project lead for two CDC Prevention Epicenters projects.
