Physician (Infection Prevention and Control)
Charité-University Medicine
Since 2016, I work as an infection prevention and control physician at a tertiary care university hospital in Berlin, Germany (Charité-University Medicine Berlin). Before that, I used to work in the field of nephrology and internal intensive care medicine. Besides my work at the hospital site, I coordinate the surveillance of surgical site infections within the German national surveillance network "KISS" (Krankenhaus-Infektions-Surveillance-System). Furthermore, I have been involved in the organization of the German point prevalence survey (PPS) on healthcare-associated infections and antibiotic use. The German PPS was conducted in the year 2016 within the context of the European point prevalence survey by the European Centre for Diesease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
