Marco Bommarito, holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University, and is currently a Lead Research Specialist in the 3M Infection Prevention Division. He has been at 3M 28 years. Prior to joining 3M, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Applied Science department at Harvard University.
His past work at 3M consisted of developing “green” surface modification treatments for aluminum alloys, self-priming structural adhesives for bonding oily metal surfaces, time indicators, time-temperature indicators, shock indicators, colorimetric indicators for bacterial detection and other biosensing applications.
His recent work has focussed on understanding clinician’s needs and developing product solutions to monitor cleanliness and disinfection of medical devices and environmental surfaces.
He has more than 50 issued and filed patents and over 30 publications.
