Anurag N. Malani, MD, is the Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention & Control Programs at St. Joseph Mercy Health System, based in Ann Arbor, MI. He is an Industrial and Operations Engineering graduate from the University of Michigan and pursued his medical studies at Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine. Dr. Malani completed his Internal Medicine training at Georgetown University and fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Michigan. His clinical practice relates to general infectious diseases including telemedicine, and he is actively involved with teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows in infectious diseases. His clinical research relates to antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention, specifically with interests in the community setting. Dr. Malani is a fellow of both the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America, a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) through the American Association of Physician Leadership, and serves as an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Michigan. He is a current member of the IDSA Clinical Affairs Committee, the SHEA Education Committee, and serves as the Community-Based Healthcare Epidemiologist Liaison for the SHEA Board of Trustees.
