Dr. Chu is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Duke University School of Medicine, Durham NC. She received her medical degree from Columbia University, New York; and completed her residency in Internal Medicine, fellowship in Infectious Diseases, and Master in Health Sciences at Duke University. Dr. Chu’s research focuses on infective endocarditis. She is the director of the International Collaboration on Endocarditis (ICE) and council member for the International Society for Cardiovascular and Infectious Diseases. Regarding her educational mission, she is the co-course director of the microbiology course for 1st year medical students and is the director of the Clinical Research Study Program for 3rd year Duke medical students. She is the co-PI for the NIH-funded BrIdGing the Gap to Enhance Clinical Research Program, which is dedicated to increasing the diversity of the biomedical workforce.
