Dr. Pergam is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Research and Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Divisions at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, an Associate Professor in the Division of Allergy & Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington, and the Director of Infection Prevention at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, in Seattle, WA. His research group studies the prevention of infections in patients with cancer, transplant recipients and other immunocompromised populations, and investigates risk factors for healthcare and community-acquired infections in these high-risk populations. He has particular interest in the epidemiology and prevention of respiratory viruses, fungal infections, multidrug resistant bacteria and the use of vaccines in cancer and transplant patients.
