CHIEF MEDICAL EPIDEMIOLOGIST
MSKCC
I am a board-certified infectious disease physician and chief hospital epidemiologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. My research initiatives include developing methods to integrate molecular-based diagnostic and fingerprinting techniques to elucidate transmission patterns of common nosocomial pathogens, such as Clostridium difficile and Vancomycin-resistant enterococcus. I have partnered with other New York medical centers to characterize genotypic patterns of C. difficile and detect transmission between facilities. At a national level, I have participated in several multicenter collaborations to establish benchmarks and performance measures for HAIs among oncology centers.
