Michaela Ritter serves as the Martin Family Endowed Chair in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Baylor University. She received her MS in Speech-Language Pathology from University of Louisville and her EdD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University. Dr. Ritter is also Director of the Baylor University Language and Literacy Clinic and Camp Success and is a certified speech-language pathologist.
Dr. Ritter directs the Child and Adolescent Language and Literacy Lab (CALL) which focuses primarily on the assessment and treatment in children with oral and written language disorders. In her research, Dr. Ritter studies language influences on reading and spelling in children with developmental language disorder and language and literacy outcomes for this clinical population. Through her teaching and research mentoring, Dr. Ritter works with students to move their clinical and research expertise forward making a difference in the lives of children and adolescents with language and literacy disorders.
