Professional Billing Office
In 2002, Mr. Mulcahy joined the Massachusetts General Physician Organization Professional Billing Office (MGPO) and is presently the Senior Director of Provider and Payer Service, overseeing the Payer Relations, Contract Management/Special Billing and Provider Enrollment departments. In his current role he is responsible for the development of relationships with the payers on behalf of the physicians, the professional billing office, and oversees the contract management system identifying payment trends. He has developed contracting protocols relevant to physician billing aimed at reducing administrative hassles, assuring accurate payment and improving the overall revenue cycle. In 2019 he took on the oversite responsibilities for the provider enrollment activities.
Mr. Mulcahy is a graduate of Villanova University holds a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is the current President of the local MA/RI MGMA as well as a member of the MGMA Government Affairs Committee and a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. He is a board member of CAQH CORE. He and his wife Jen have two grown boys and reside in Milford, MA.
