Behaviors are often driven by the cultural norms or incentives that exist within an organization. Many times these can be traced back for better and worse to the compensation model design. By evaluating the outcomes your organization need to achieve in terms of value-based care, practice growth, clinical quality improvement or all of the above, you can modify compensation models to help incentivize and drive the new behaviors you want. The art is in choosing the right measures and engaging your leadership and providers in the conversations, so they understand the metric and outcome alignment and the ability they have to influence their outcome.
Learning Objectives:
Analyze key factors that drive motivation and performance.
Outline your organizational vision for growth and improvement and how to motivate your physician and provider team to align with that vision.
Compare different compensation model factors to drive engagement, individual and team behaviors to achieve desired outcomes.
