Dr. Vivek Sanker, MBBS is currently a Research Fellow at Society of Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT), California and a graduate of Indira Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, India. Dr. Sanker worked as a Junior Resident in the department of General Surgery, at Noorul Islam Institute of Medical Sciences, Kerala. During this period, he focused on the management of general surgical cases and was able to provide optimum patient care. Afterwards, he worked as a Research Assistant under the guidance of Prof. Sunil Kumar BS, Additional Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery, Trivandrum Medical College, India. Dr. Sanker’s main area of research is in Traumatic Brain Injury and associated cognitive derangements.
Dr. Sanker has been actively involved in Neuroscience Research for more than a year. He has also worked as a Research Assistant under Dr. Robert Mathew, Professor, Department of Neurology, Sri Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences. The focus of research was on Neurodegenerative conditions and Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). Dr. Sanker played a pivotal role in establishing the global research initiative, ‘Erevnites’. Under his leadership, 15 Neuroscience research projects have already been completed and the same has been accepted in international conferences, also more than 50 projects are in the process of completion.
Currently, Dr. Sanker holds certifications from American College of Surgeons on Running Prospective Surgical Clinical Trials, Principal Investigator Basic Course and CITI Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) by CITI Program. Dr. Sanker is also a recipient of “Cureus Laurete” award for his contribution as an author and peer reviewer in medical research.
