Mert Marcel Dagli is a volunteer medical student research scholar at the Department of Neurosurgery, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, US. He is currently finishing his studies at his home institution the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria. His current research focus is on clinical spine research and spinal deformity, with a special interest in automation of research in spinal surgery. His research interests also include AI-brain enhancement, neuromodulation, electrocorticography and cybernetic surgery. He has received several awards including the ERASMUS SMS Scholarship, AAF Scholarship, and was part of the winning team of PEC 2021. Mert Marcel Dagli hopes to acquire knowledge on how to excel academically, network with colleagues and to learn from experts in the field at the conference.
