Donate Blood in Support of the STS Drive

For the first time at its annual meeting, The Society hosted a blood drive and encouraged attendees and industry partners to donate. STS members who were unable to attend also can support this effort by making an appointment with the Red Cross and providing sponsor code STS2023. Every 2 seconds, someone in the US needs blood and/or platelets, and cardiac surgery is the most common setting for massive transfusion. Donating blood is one more way in which STS members can take an active role in saving a life.
