Complex PHT intervention session will comprehensively review portal and splanchnic venous interventions in a case based approach. We will discuss IR management: techniques & treatment algorithms of acute and chronic PVT. PVR TIPS, mechanical/chemical thrombolysis techniques and tools will be discussed. IR management of gastric/esophageal, ectopic and stomal varices with and without TIPS, intravascular ultrasound and other techniques for complex TIPS, TIPS reduction and intra/extrahepatic vascular shunt closure techniques will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to recognize complex clinical sceinarios associated with portal hypertension, potential complications and interventional treatment alternatives.
The participants will be able to describe the different procedures, their results, and their current status in the treatment of portal hypertension.
The audience wil learn the management of acute and chronic portal vein thrombosis/occlusion, with a specific focus on endovascular management, gastric/esphageal and ectopic varix as well as HE management.
