David A. Bluemke, MD, PhD, MsB, is a Professor of Radiology, on the Thoracic Imaging and Cardiovascular Imaging Sections. He is also Editor of the journal RADIOLOGY. Dr. Bluemke completed his medical degree at the University of Chicago Medical School, Chicago, IL and his PhD in Biophysics also at the University of Chicago. He completed his residency, fellowship, and master of science in business at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. He was previously director of Radiology at the NIH in Bethesa, MD as well as a senior tenured investigator. He has authored more than 700 publications in the areas of diagnostic radiology and cardiovascular disease, including his work as principle investigator for MRI studies in the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA).
