Dr. Ahmet Demirkiran, MD, Cardiologist, Cardiovascular MRI expert (level 3) is currently involved as a PhD fellow in the field of cardiovascular MRI at the Amsterdam University Medical Center - Location VUmc. He has a special interest in evaluation of myocardial tissue characterization after myocardial infarction and 4D flow assessment through cardiovascular MRI. Dr. Demirkiran has graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2010 and gained his specialty of cardiology degree in department of cardiology in the same institution in 2016. Thereafter, he completed his 2 years of cardiovascular MRI fellowship program in Amsterdam University Medical Center - Location VUmc. He obtained level 3 of competency in cardiovascular MRI accredited by European Society of Cardiology /European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging in August, in 2018. He is currently involved in several cardiovascular MRI based researches and has been author and co-author of the articles published in JACC-Cardiovascular Imaging and EHJ-Cardiovascular Imaging. In addition, he has performed several abstract presentations during EACVI/SCMR, EuroCMR congresses and AHA Scientific Sessions. Finally, Dr. Demirkiran is very excited to be part of SCMR and committed to improving cardiovascular health by advancing the field of Cardiovascular MRI.
