Barbara Burkhardt completed residency training in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education (Rochester, MN, USA), followed by residency and Pediatric Cardiology fellowship at the University of Freiburg, Germany and fellowship at the University Children's Hospital Zurich, Switzerland, where she gained first experience in cardiac MRI. She completed an Advanced Cardiac Imaging MRI fellowship at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas, TX, USA) and is currently working as a consultant at the University Children's Hospital Zurich, Switzerland.
Her main interests are congenital heart disease and cardiovascular imaging, including CMR and echocardiography. She is involved in clinical research with cardiomyopathy and congenital heart disease patients.
