Director of Imaging, Prof of Cardiovascular Medicine

I hold the Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine at Flinders University and am Director of Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging & Senior Clinical Cardiologist at Flinders Medical Centre. I am a senior research fellow at the SA Health and Medical Research Institute, where I am the director of the Imaging and Heart Failure/Cardiomyopathy division, as well as being the Imaging Core Lab director. My research program can be summarised under the overall theme of using cardiac imaging to answer mechanistic questions in three broad areas in cardiology: Heart failure and Cardiomyopathy, Coronary Artery Disease and Arrhythmia Disorders.
I graduated with first class Honours from the University of Adelaide in 1994, obtained my FRACP (Cardiology) in 2002 and my PhD from Oxford University (DPhil) in 2005. Other qualifications: FESC, FCSANZ, CCTA(A), FSCMR
Over the course of my research career I have attracted more than 30million AUD in grant funding.
I have published 210 peer-reviewed manuscripts, in which I am first or second author in 31% and senior author in 38%. I have also published >300 abstracts, and 11 book chapters.
