Clerio F. De Azevedo Filho, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine; Duke Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Center; Department of Medicine – Division of Cardiology; Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Azevedo obtained his medical degree at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil, in 1998 and concluded his clinical cardiology fellowship training in 2002. Since then, he has focused his scientific interests on Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Cardiac Computed Tomography. In 2003 and 2004, he was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow under the mentorship of Dr. João A. C. Lima at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. From 2004 to 2014, he was the Director of Cardiovascular MRI and CT at Rede D’Or Hospitals in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After obtaining his PhD in 2009 at Heart Institute (InCor) of São Paulo University Medical School, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Cardiology at Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) in 2012 and Director of Cardiovascular MRI and CT at Clínica de Diagnóstico por Imagem - CDPI/DASA in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2014. In 2017 he moved to the United States and joined the Duke Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Center (DCMRC). Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center.
