Dr John-Paul Carpenter MBBS BSc FRCP FESC FSCMR is a cardiologist with a specific interest in cardiovascular imaging, currently at University Hospitals, Dorset on the south coast of the UK. "JP" as he prefers to be known, is a Fellow of SCMR, the European Society of Cardiology and the Royal College of Physicians (London, UK). He is Chair of the Certification Committee for the European Society for Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), responsible for all seven imaging modality accreditation programs as well as European lab certification in CMR and Echocardiography. He has EACVI and SCMR Level 3 certification in CMR as well as EACVI Level 3 CT accreditation. As well as cross-sectional imaging, he is BSE accredited in adult echocardiography, performing advanced echo imaging and transesophageal echo studies. He runs a dedicated cardio-oncology service in conjunction with the Dorset Cancer Centre and is the regional lead for cardiac disease in patients with neuroendocrine tumours and carcinoid disease.
