Dr. Maskatia completed his pediatrics training at Stanford University School of Medicine, and cardiology and advancied cardiovascular imaging training at Baylor College of Medicine. He is currently associate professor of pediatrics in the division of cardiology at Stanford. He has research and clinical interest in using a variety of cardiac imaging modalities to improve diagnosis, risk stratification and outcomes of patients with cardiovascular disease. Within the realm of cardiovascular magnetic resonance, he has interests in optimizing protocols for pediatric-specific indications and in studying right ventricular mechanics in patients with tetralogy of Fallot. In pediatric echocardiography, he has particular interest in curriculum development and using novel tools to optimize efficiency in echocardiography education. In the field of fetal echocardiography, has interest in optimizing the use fetal echocardiography to predict outcomes in a variety of cardiac and non-cardiac disease states.
