Dr Mona Bhatia is Principal Director and Head of Imaging at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre, New Delhi, the largest free standing private cardiac hospital in the Asia Pacific region. Dr Bhatia is a revered leader in cardiovascular imaging globally, with over 30 years of rich international expertise, having trained and worked in prestigious super-specialty government, private and teaching institutions across India, UK, UAE, Turkey, Switzerland and USA.
Dr Bhatia has been active faculty, chair and member of multiple global educational and international leadership committees. She serves SCMR’s International Outreach, Clinical Trials, Verification and Corporate Relations committees and is Past Chair, Advocacy committee. She also holds key positions in multiple global cardiovascular imaging societies as Convener, Multimodality Imaging Council, Cardiological Society of India; Member, Executive Committee, ASCI; Chair, International Regional Committee, India, SCCT; Coordinator, Artificial Intelligence, Indian College of Radiology and Imaging; Member, Accreditation Committee: National Accreditation Board of Hospitals and Health Care Providers in Medical Imaging services.
In addition to her role as a clinician, Dr. Bhatia has exceptional educational, teaching, research, audit and management skills, and has extensively authored and presented papers, publications, presentations, chapters and technical innovations in National and International text books, journals and conferences. She is a reviewer for international journals and involved in various multicentre trials.
Being passionate about driving highest standards of cardiac imaging, Dr Bhatia has mentored numerous young doctors. Her meticulous training on patient assessment, preparation, procedure, protocol planning, image acquisition, manipulation, post processing, reconstruction and reporting, makes her a sought after trainer. The role of cardiovascular imaging has risen exponentially in India, with increasing patient awareness, and evidence based medicine in recent years.
