Dr. James White is a Cardiologist and Clinician Scientist at the Libin Cardiovascular Institute in Calgary, Alberta, and is Director of the Stephenson Cardiac Imaging Centre. He leads a research program focused on defining the role of Cardiovascular Imaging in Precision Medicine - developing predictive models to improve clinical decision making.
Dr. White completed his specialty training at Western University, followed by a fellowship in Cardiovascular MRI and Clinical Research at Duke University. After beginning his academic career in London, Ontario, he was recruited to be Director of the Stephenson Cardiovascular Imaging Centre in Calgary, Alberta in 2013.
Dr White was an Early Investigator for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, received young investigator awards from both the American College of Cardiology and Canadian Cardiovascular Society and is past president of the Canadian Society of Cardiovascular MRI. Currently, he leads an academic training program in Calgary focussed in CMR complemented by a data science research group focussed in risk prediction modelling.
