Dr. Peter A. Blume is a board-certified podiatric foot and ankle surgeon at the Yale New Haven Hospital. He is a medical director for ambulatory services and a codirector of chronic limb ischemia and medical director and podiatric service line physician executive NOS and for the heart and Vascular Center at the Yale New Haven Health system. He is an assistant clinical Professor of Surgery, Cardiology, and Anesthesia at the Yale school of medicine. He graduated from Syracuse University and the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and was the chief resident at the VA Medical Center Yale clinical campus in Connecticut. He also has a fellowship in reconstructive foot surgery and diabetic limb salvage from the Yale VA Medical Center and visiting fellow at the Georgetown University Medical Center. He has spent decades helping patients suffering from foot and ankle problems and is at the forefront of diabetic limb preservation and reconstruction. He has been recognized 5 times by Connecticut Magazine as one of “Connecticut’s Top Doctors”. Dr. Blume’s commitment to the field is highlighted by the various teaching positions and faculty appointments that he has held over the past 20 years, publishing original research in over 150 publications and authoring many textbooks on podiatric surgery.
