I designed Learning Curve several years ago by overlapping circles and coloring each section. Thinking it would be difficult to make, having to create individual templates for each shape, I set the idea aside. After learning how to make Twice-cut Drunkard’s Path blocks from Jenny Haynes, I realized I could adapt her method to create whole circles. To cut and trim the shapes and the background curves I used the Clammy 12” template by Latifah Safir. Quilted on a stationary machine, I used Westalee Circles on Quilts template sets to quilt the arcs. I had to read the instructions carefully and watch a few of videos to learn how to use both the cutting and quilting templates. In the end, I learned a lot from making it, including a few things I would do differently next time.
