"We Are Enough" is a collaboration between 26 3rd grade students from WJ Bryan Elementary in Miami, Florida. The students read a book entitled "I Am Enough" by Grace Byer's. This book helped them to realize that they are smart enough, strong enough, talented enough, disciplined enough, determined enough and beautiful enough. Students realized that they are beautiful in the skin they are in. They created self portraits that they appliqued onto quilt blocks and their teacher pieced it together. The students chose the sashing and border to represent their school colors. They worked with African fabrics to help connect them with their heritage.
