During the summer of 2022 I took part in the 30 days of improv sewalong on Instagram hosted by Amanda @broadclothstudios and Shannon @shannonfraserdesigns. It was all about exploring different ways of practicing improv piecing and experimenting with different shapes. My fabric choice consists of an old pair of trousers, some corresponding solids and a striking print from my stash. I dived into cutting without a ruler and without a plan. Such a liberating process! In my quilt designs I always have a minimalistic approach, seeking for sharp crisp shapes and a stark contrast. For the dense quilting I used 28 weight Aurifil thread.
