The high contrast pieced wedges in various widths and lengths within a crescent moon shaped arc are designed to create an optical illusion of depth. The wedges radiate from the center of the quilt, and each ring is rotated to shift the visual weight while maintaining overall balance of the design. The straight line quilting is intentionally minimal to not distract from the composition. Crescent Radial is the eighteenth in my Radial Quilt Series.
