In this piece, rings, swirls, and playful gradations of color conjure the thrills of entertainers under the big top. The circus—like life in general—is chaotic, loud, and at times confusing. As such, I found myself gravitating toward clean, precise lines for this design as a balm for an overwhelming world and an attempt to assert control.
