This quilt had many starts and stops. In January 2020, I bought a set of 2″ squares of all 366 Kona Cotton colors without knowing what I would do with them. I eventually came up with a plan that I knew would work in theory -- but was unsure how it would come together in practice. Using an underlying twelve-fold Islamic geometric pattern, I grouped the 366 colors into 61 groups of 6, filling in the kites (also called an almond or “lozah” shape in the Arabic/Persian tradition) from the top left corner and ending at the bottom right. I finished the quilt with ¼″ vertical straight-line quilting. Special thanks to Ben Millett (@benmillett) for assembling the Kona sets!
