This design challenged me both in concept, piecing and quilting. There are things I would do differently if I ever repeat this design but I think we all say/think that. I rarely use the colour red and wanted my X to glow which I feel I have achieved through the colour gradations. I also enjoyed the humorous use of the little skulls fabric. I was inspired by the work of Col Jordan, an Australian hard-edge abstract artist. I have some of his work and have met him. This is my third quilt inspired by his work and each time I email him a photo. He has seen this quilt and agrees that it is an independent art work on its own merit.
