The Arc Series explores the potential of wholecloth quilts. Thread is used to create a linear design while also sculpting the fabric. Inspired by early calamanco quilts, this piece celebrates craft and tradition. Historically making quilts has been synonymous with comforting and protecting. The deep-blue wool flannel simultaneously reflects and absorbs light; leaving me with the sensation that I can sink into the surface -- to be immersed in and protected by a comforting stillness.
