I dream of quilt designs! And the inspiration for this quilt came after I used the skinny drunkard path templates by Jenny Haynes of @pappersaxsten. So while sitting in a cafe, I put pencil to paper and the quilt came to life. The key for the original design was to ensure that as the shapes increased in size, the saturation of the colour increased as well. So as each log grew larger, so too did the depth of blue and pink. Once the fabrics were chosen, the quilt top came together so quickly. My friend Monika did the quilting. Before she started we spent hours choosing the designs for each feature of the quilt; the background, the featured dots in the centre, and then the logs. It was a lot of fun to collaborate with her on the details. The name of the quilt is simply from my family tree.
