The pink fabrics in this piece are all from my scrap bin. I arranged them in a gradient, then tried to keep their general shapes - retaining the imprints of past projects - as I used scraps of low volume fabrics to bring them together to create a kind of map. It is walking foot quilted with a grid reminiscent of printed maps, and the cat's winding path through the "streets" is hand quilted with perle cotton. This quilt is inspired by our adopted kitten's criminal behavior, my dad's extensive knowledge of South Jersey back roads, city maps, and Family Circus "dotted line" comics.
