Pop! Last Fall I took a 2 week long Improvisational Class with quilt Artist, Nancy Crow, at her barn in the Columbus, OH area. It was very very intense learning with a lot of focus on color and values. It was fun also creating with other quilt artists present so we could see how each interpreted the same assignment from our teacher. This improv quilt is my main piece from the first week. The black outline of each of the shapes were reminiscent of pop art that I have seen - especially from Brazilian Artist Romero Britto, it also greatly made each of the figures pop!
