During the lockdown of the 2020-2022 pandemic, conversations and relationships underwent drastic changes. The importance of social interactions became clear as we were only seeing each other on Zoom or through doors and windows. As the isolation grew into two years, it became the norm. Once the world opened up again and we started getting out, I started a series of quilts that I call "Conversations." I wanted to document types of personal interactions that we had so sorely missed. “The Nanny” reminds me of an adult, whether a nanny or parent, herding a child and a dog down a city sidewalk, balloons in hand!
