(HDW020) Big Kawandi

I found and fell in love with the process of making Kawandi quilts in 2021. There is such magic in the improvisational process, and so much freedom in allowing a quilt to come together organically, with little to no planning. This piece is a showcase of my favorite fabric scraps. It has brought me so much pleasure, both in the making and in the sharing. It is also an incredible texture and I love to sleep under it. It has given me an endless stream of curiosity about what is possible with kawandi. The top of the quilt is created and quilted simultaneously. There is no piecing or appliqué involved. Just layering, folding and quilting.
