I started three quilts this summer. One was a recently published pattern with a log cabin-like block. The second was a paper-pieced polar bear. The third, this quilt, caught my attention and made it to the finish line. Improv is my quilt heart. I love digging through the scrap bin; then mixing pieces, shapes, textures, and colors. Improv isn't mindless, rather it's mind consuming. When the stress of being a teenager, having a sometimes annoying little brother, or other chaos clouds my brain, the simple act of putting two pieces of fabric together soothes me. I wanted to add curves to this made fabric panel just to see if I could sew them. The result is Quilt #3.
