This quilt is about contrast. Sharp angles and gentle orange peel curves provide contrast of shape. Strategic placement of the challenge fabrics takes advantage of high color contrast to draw attention to the pieced elements. Italian ceramic tiles were an inspiration for the design so it seemed fitting to give it a family name "Biancamano".
