This quilt is based on a design by Caroline Hadley, #290 from her Geometriquilt blog (used with Caroline’s permission). The shapes in the blocks remind me of fortune cookies. I tweaked the design slightly so that the points of the fortune cookies don’t quite match up, making the open space around them more continuous. The colors of the challenge fabrics seemed to work in pairs, so I mirrored them to create the quilt top (gray/white, the two oranges, the two blues). I drafted my own paper piecing templates from Caroline’s design. The straight-line quilting was done using a walking foot with Aurifil 50 wt. thread in rusty orange. The color mirroring is repeated in the binding.
