I started playing with flying geese blocks but using them to “color block” areas and also vary their scale. I wanted to work with a really traditional block (perhaps one that I wouldn't normally use) and create designs with it by working in big blocks of color, and also use scale to create different patterns. This is the second in my series and I wanted it to be really graphic from a distance. As you move closer, you see the scale shifts and fabric variation. I am always trying to find my yellow brick road - the right path where I can shine my brightest. At this point in my life, I feel that I am at crossroads and looking for new direction. I really wanted the quilting to use the negative space to always bring your focus back to the road - perhaps the road less traveled this time...
